Collection: Sorrentberg Riesling

Sorentberg Riesling an exciting project between two friends!

In 2012, two young winegrowers, Tobias Treis from Reil on the Moselle, and Ivan Giovanett from Neumarkt in South Tyrol, threw themselves into an ambitious project. They revived the almost forgotten single field, Reiler Sorentberg, after 25 years of fallow. The steep south-facing slope, famous for its long-lived wines and red Wissenbach slate, became their stage.

Tobias and Ivan don't follow trends; they embrace tradition. In their cellar, they prioritize respect for terroir, handpicking in several stages, and spontaneous fermentation in traditional wooden barrels. They eschew mass production methods in favor of delicate craftsmanship and genuine expression of character.

These young winegrowers share a passion for Riesling and a dream to create exceptional wines. Tobias, born and raised on the Mosel, and Ivan, with roots in South Tyrol, met at Geisenheim University. Their collaboration and love of wine led them to revive Sorentberg, and their knowledge of traditional craftsmanship and modern innovations make them a powerful duo.

Sorentberg is unique with its 100% south facing slope, extreme slope, cool climate and the rare Wissenbach slate. This unique terroir gives their wines a character and depth that can only be found on the Mosel River.
