Along the rolling slopes of the central Mosel, shrouded in a deep tradition of wine production, Vingården Julius Treis rests proudly. A history that stretches back to the year 1684, when their ancestors first planted the roots of their family in this enchanting land.
Irma and Theo Treis were the architects behind the winery's success over four decades. Today, it is Tobias Treis who carries on the legacy, guided by the wisdom of the past and an unwavering passion for wine. Theo advises his son, Tobias, and watches over the winery's treasury, where decades' worth of liquid treasure rests and matures. Since 2008, Tobias, with a deep sense of heritage, has shaped and developed the winery's future. With a degree as Dipl.-Ing. in oenology, he proudly carries on the family's high standards and traditions, enriched with new knowledge, passion and visionary ideas.
Andrea Treis, born Schlechter, joined the family business in 2021. She expertly manages the marketing department and social media, while tenderly caring for their guests and events. Her previous experience as a quality manager and biological-technical assistant at another winery, as well as her title as former Moselwine Queen, gives her a unique insight and dedication to represent the legacy of Julius Tries with pride and dignity.
On the 5-hectare vineyard, Riesling is the king, enthroned on the steep slopes, carefully tended and harvested by hand. Over three centuries, knowledge of the terroir, the unique character of the vineyard and the legendary stories have become like treasures for them. These treasures, passed down from generation to generation, are now found in every drop of their wines, as an honorable tribute to the roots and history from which they come.
